Every page here, the chart and the studio included, should work with a keyboard, a screen reader, a phone held in one hand and text set twice as large. This page says how we check that, where it still falls short, and how to tell us.

What standard do you aim for?
WCAG 2.2, level AA.
Before each release every page is checked automatically for text contrast, a name on every control, landmarks and heading order, and again at three phone and tablet widths for touch targets and sideways scrolling. On 5 October 2026 all twelve pages passed both checks. Automated checks don't catch everything a person meets, which is why the last section of this page exists.
Can I use the chart without seeing it?
For what it tells you, yes. The picture itself, not yet.
The chart is drawn as a picture, and it carries a description of how it is laid out: the zenith at the centre, the horizon on the ring, north at the top and east on the left. What it shows is also in words. Find a Star answers in text with where any named star, planet, the Sun or the Moon is at the minute you set, and the list under the chart gives the evening's rising and setting times.
Can I order a print with a keyboard or a screen reader?
Yes, from the first choice to the payment page.
Every choice in the studio is a labelled button, swatch or field you can reach with the Tab key, and each colour swatch has its name. The preview of your print is described in words as it changes, and so is its size against a sofa. Payment happens on Stripe's own checkout page, which Stripe builds and maintains.
Does anything move?
Only briefly, and not if you've asked your device to reduce motion.
When the chart opens, its horizon draws itself in over about half a second. With reduced motion switched on in your device's settings, the chart appears finished at once. The sunset and dawn shows only play when you press their buttons.
Where does it still fall short?
- The shapes of the constellation figures and the Milky Way have no description in words, only the constellations' names.
- A poster you download is an image file, so a screen reader can't read the place and minute printed on it.
- The journal's diagrams are described in their captions, not in full.
How do I tell you something doesn't work?
Write to support@painted.app.
Say which page and what happened, and what you were using if you know it: the browser, a screen reader, a magnifier. If any part of ordering gets in your way, send us the place, the minute and how you'd like the print to look, and we'll set up the order with you by email. Post reaches us at PaintedApp, LLC, 1327 SE Tacoma St #394, Portland, OR 97202, United States.
